(Riverton, WY) – Chief Eric Hurtado from the Riverton Police Department (RPD) has confirmed the details behind the closure of portions of East Adams Ave. and ensuing investigation the morning of October 31, in an update shared Thursday afternoon.
“Riverton Police & Fire personnel responded to check the welfare of a person in the 900 block of E. Adams around 7:40 AM this morning,” the update states. “Fire Department personnel found a high concentration of carbon monoxide around a home.”
Responders then forced open the door to check on the occupants, the update continues, where “firefighters discovered a deceased family inside the home.”
“The incident is still under investigation and the area is still closed off to traffic. More information will be released as it becomes available.”
