Six Lander Tigers placed in the top four spots at the West 3-A Regional Wrestling Tournament in Cody over the weekend. The Cody Broncs won the team race with 179 points over second-place Mountain View with 146.
Noah Irvine led the Tigers with a runner-up finish at 126 pounds after a hard-fought 6-4 loss to Russel Goolsbey of Powell in the championship match.
A pair of Tigers were third with Braden Ghormley at 120 pounds and Taj Prine at 215.
Cody West and Dax Platt were fourth at 175 and 120 pounds, respectively.
The 120-pound match was a highlight for Tiger fans, with Ghormley and Platt going the full six minutes, with Ghormley winning the match by the narrowest of margins, 11-10.
The Tigers are off to Casper beginning this Thursday for the Class 3-A state championships.
