The Jackson Hole Travel & Tourism Board is working on negotiating a tough line between attracting visitors, and protecting its natural wonders.
A new video and ad campaign from the company are encouraging visitors to quit tagging, or checking-in, with their exact location. The campaign says that when visitors check-in on social media at a specific location, crowds follow.
Often times, large crowds in natural or protected areas, have negative impacts to their surroundings.
Instead, the Travel & Tourism Board is hoping folks will use a generic check-in, such as “Jackson Hole” or “Grand Teton National Park.”
