Dubois Chamber Music announces the last of the season’s three concerts by Jackson Hole Chamber Music on Sunday, 29 September 2024. The concert will be held at the Dennison Lodge at 909 W. Ramshorn St. in Dubois, at 3 p.m.
Tickets can be bought at the Bank of Jackson Hole, 800 W. Ramshorn St., and the
Mercantile, 118 E Ramshorn St, or you can purchase them online. They can also be purchased at the door the day of the performance.
Cost for tickets will be $20 for adults and $15 for ages up to 18 as well as for seniors over age 65. Donations at the door are welcome.
Always looking to arrange its concerts in new ways, for the first time JHCM presents a woodwind quintet. Woodwinds such as flutes or oboes produce sounds note by note as the players blow into the instruments and manipulate the sounds into music through fingerwork. Woodwinds are some of the earliest musical instruments in human history, going back in time as far as 40,000 BC.
The Quintet will present the following pieces:
- Maurice Ravel’s “Le Tombeau de Couperin,”
- Ludwig von Beethoven’s “Duet for Clarinet and Bassoon in F major”
- Lalo Schifrin’s “La Nouvelle Orleans,”
- Alberto Ginastera’s “Duo for Flute and Oboe,” and
- August Klughardt’s “Wind Quintet.”
Members of the JHCM Woodwind Quintet are: Kasumi Leonard, flute; Alex Hayshi, oboe; Evan Solomon, clarinet; Ben Greanya, bassoon; and Chandra Cervantes, horn. Each has played with a number of well-known national and regional groups. Individual biographies can be seen here.
