According to Buckrail, the Jackson, Wyoming town council voted unanimously Saturday afternoon to implement a “shelter-in-place” ordinance for their community effectively immediately.
The order requires all residents to stay at home with the exception of essential employees and for essential activities. Essential activities are described as health and safety, supplies and services, outdoor activity, and certain types of work. The order currently extends through April 17th.
As of Saturday morning, there were 25 states in the U.S. that had statewide shelter-in-place orders. That includes Wyoming neighbors, Montana, Idaho, and Colorado.
While Wyoming as a state is not under a mandatory shelter-in-place order, Governor Mark Gordon did urge residents to stay home during a press conference Friday.
As of Saturday afternoon there were 82 reported positive Coronavirus tests in Wyoming. 20 of those are in Fremont County, 19 in Laramie County, and 13 in Teton County.
