Construction on the 00 block of Jefferson Street will begin Monday, April 13, 2026. Crews from 71 Construction will extend water, sewer, and paving into the new Popo Agie River Park.
Jefferson Street between North 1st Street and Four Seasons Drive will be fully or partially closed through the end of June. Short-term closures may also occur at the North 1st Street intersection. Please follow all posted signage and barricades until the roadway is fully reopened.
Access to Sunrise Villa Apartments will remain available via the west entrance throughout construction. Four Seasons Drive residents will need to access their homes from Poor Farm Road. Mailboxes will be temporarily relocated to the north end of Four Seasons Drive.
This project is funded by a $1.275 million Community Development Block Grant and Lander’s 1% Capital Facilities Tax.
Safety Reminders
- Follow all posted traffic and pedestrian signage.
- Do not drive east past the Jefferson Street/North 1st Street intersection; obey all closures and detours.
- Vehicle and pedestrian park access will be available from Poor Farm Road during construction.
- Use caution in the park and remain in designated safe areas, as the west side will be used for construction staging.
