(Denver, CO) – Denver Broncos legend and former General Manager, John Elway recently joined Barstool Sports’ ‘Pardon My Take’ Podcast.
Elway was asked about playing golf last year with former University of Wyoming, now Buffalo Bills, quarterback Josh Allen. “I’m wondering, how long is it going to take him to realize that I passed on him and took Bradley Chubb instead.” Elway joked, “And it took him two and a half holes to bring it up.”
Elway emphasized to the hosts several times through the interview, “he is my type (of quarterback) and I loved him.” He then concluded, “That was probably my biggest mistake of my GM days was not taking Josh.”
Elway worked under the General Manager title from 2011-2020. In 2021, he became the President of Football Operations. He walked away from the Broncos front office entirely after the 2022 season.
Josh Allen is gearing up for his seventh season with the Buffalo Bills. He has a 63-30 overall win/loss regular season record and is 5-5 in the playoffs, reaching the post-season the last five years consecutively.
