Jordan Whitener is proud to announce his candidacy for Mayor of Shoshoni, bringing a strong commitment to honesty, transparency, accountability, and community-focused leadership.
A lifelong advocate for small-town values, Whitener has built his career around leadership, problem-solving, and serving others. Professionally, he has built his career in LPG operations, safety, compliance, and management roles within the energy and transportation industries, where he has gained extensive experience managing budgets, overseeing projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading teams. He also serves his community through many basketball platforms, provides county wide opportunities through Shoshoni Hot Summer Nights and is a member of the Shoshoni Town Council.
During his time on the council, Whitener has worked to support local youth programs, protect senior housing, advocate for responsible spending, improve infrastructure, and ensure taxpayer dollars are used wisely. He has earned a reputation for asking tough questions, demanding transparency, and standing up for the residents of Shoshoni.
Whitener believes Shoshoni’s greatest strength is its people. As mayor, he will focus on completing critical water, sewer, and infrastructure improvements, supporting public safety, encouraging responsible economic growth, modernizing town ordinances where needed, supporting town employees, and protecting taxpayer dollars.
“My goal is simple: to serve the people of Shoshoni with honesty, common sense, and accountability,” Whitener said. “I am committed to working hand-in-hand with residents to enhance our town, improve quality of life, and create lasting opportunities for future generations. I believe the best decisions are made when local government listens to its citizens and remains transparent and accountable to the people it serves.”
Whitener’s leadership style is centered on communication, accessibility, and teamwork. He believes successful leadership comes from listening first, gathering input from residents and stakeholders, and making informed decisions based on facts and the long-term interests of the community. He is committed to being approachable, responsive, and focused on finding practical solutions that benefit the entire town.
