(Pittsburgh, PA) – Former University of Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen made NFL history Sunday as his Buffalo Bills knocked off the Pittsburgh Steelers 26-7.
In the win Allen broke the all-time record of most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback, with his 76th, surpassing former Carolina Panther, Cam Newton. Josh set that record in his 123rd career start Sunday. Newton scored his 75 rushing touchdowns through his 148 career games played, 25 more than Josh has played in thus far. Philadelphia Eagles’ current QB Jalen Hurts is currently third on the list with 63 rushing TD’s.
Adding to that staggering statistic, Allen won’t turn 30 years old until May 2026.
“It’s not why I play the game. I’m just happy I helped this team get a victory,” Allen told reporters immediately after breaking the record.
The Bills improved to 8-4 with the win and will host the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday.
The record breaking game comes one week after his trip to Laramie for his jersey number retirement ceremony at the University of Wyoming.
