Three Fremont County cowboys and one cowgirl have qualified for the Junior High National Finals Rodeo. To qualify, you must finish in the top four in an event.
Harper Nicholas qualified in team roping, taking fourth with her partner Shayden Tidyman of Carpenter. They scored 48 points, a half point higher than the fifth-place team of Eion Murray of Riverton and his partner Grady Hicks of Gillette, who did not qualify.
Murray made it in bull riding. It’s his fourth trip to the national finals.
Louie Nicholls of Fort Washakie was second in calf roping, and Riverton’s Cameron Eberline advanced to the national finals for the second time in light rifle.
Harper Nicholas is a fifth grader. Eion Murray and Louie Nicholls are in eighth grade, and Cameron Eberline is a seventh grader.
