(Lander, WY) – Get ready for an exhilarating weekend of mountain biking, live music, and family-friendly fun as the Jurassic Classic Mountain Bike Festival returns to Lander, Wyoming, from Friday, August 16 to Sunday, August 18. Tickets are on sale now through August 1 for full festival packages. Tickets purchased August 1-August 15 will include limited swag. Jurassic Classic MTB Festival serves as a fundraiser for the Lander Cycling Club.
Friday, August 16: A Day at CWC ASI
Kick off the festival at Central Wyoming College’s Alpine Science Institute (ASI), located at 50 Field Station Road, Lander, WY. The day starts with packet pick-up from 10 AM to 4 PM, alongside a delicious selection of wood-fired pizza and beverages from 11 AM to 3 PM.
Friday features a variety of clinics for ticket holders of all skill levels and ages. Clinics will be led by a variety of local PMBIA-certified instructors and include kid’s clinics, gender-inclusive clinics for all levels, and so much more! All Jurassic Classic beginner’s clinics are FREE with a festival pass!
The evening culminates at Lander City Park (free camping available) with live music from Boot Gun and Illiterate Light, organized by Lander Presents, plus a variety of local food trucks, games, and competitions, including the Foot Down and Bunny Hop! Lander Cycling Club will provide a community bike valet.
Saturday, August 17: A Day in Sinks Canyon
Enjoy a day in the canyon with brunch by Lander Bake Shop, and skills clinics (beginners ride FREE!) for all levels. Shuttles by Wind River Shuttle will run from Bruce’s Parking Lot to the Fossil Hill Trailhead from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with mechanical support provided by The Bike Mill and Gannett Peak Sports. Recovery space provided by Elemental Fitness.
Shuttle down from Sinks Canyon to Lander City Park for an evening of fun, games, food, artist/vendor booths, and community. Join in the competitive spirit of the Strider Races and the Huffy Toss while partaking in an epic raffle, food trucks, homemade ice cream sandwiches, brews by Lander Brewing Company and non-alcoholic beverages by Athletic Brewing, Liquid Death, and Stigler. Sunday, August 18: Dirt Church Dig Day at Johnny Behind the Rocks
Join our community for a day of trail-building in collaboration with the BLM and group ride session from 9 AM to 12 PM, followed by lunch from Lincoln Street Bakery.
For advanced riders, Darran Wells leads a clinic on big jumps and drops at ASI from 9 AM to 1 PM.
