(Fremont County, WY) – The first WyoPreps.com Coaches & Media poll of the 2025 football season is here.
Preseason rankings include many interesting storylines across the state and it’s no surprise that in class 3A the heavy favorites once again will be Star Valley and Cody, ranked 1st and 2nd respectively.
After falling to Star Valley in the semi-finals last season, Riverton enters the year ranked third. Head Coach Mark Lenhardt begins his third year with RHS and returns many of last year’s starters. Douglas and Powell are also ranked in 3A with Lander just on the outside looking in.
In class 1A 6-man, Dubois did receive a couple of votes in the poll, but were left out of the top 5. Last year’s dominant champion, Little Snake River is a unanimous number one in the preseason poll.
In class 1A 9-man, Shoshoni received a single vote for 2nd place, 3rd place, 4th place and 5th place each. That did not tally them enough total points for a spot in the top five however. Pine Bluffs received 11 of the 13 votes for #1, followed by Saratoga.
Big Horn is the preseason favorite in class 2A gathering 10 of 18 first place votes. Mountain View and Lovell both picked up 4 first place votes and are ranked #2 and #3.
Finally in class 4A, defending champions Sheridan looks to be the team to beat again this year. The only non-Sheridan first place vote went to the team they beat in last year’s title game, Cheyenne East. Natrona County, Campbell County and Thunder Basin are also in the top five.
