All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
(Riverton, WY) – A 16-year-old juvenile from Pavillion faces multiple charges after an October 22 incident that involved a “short chase” with the Riverton Police Department (RPD), according to the RPD call log issued on October 23.
The log states that when officers contacted the juvenile, who had been listed as a runaway, he was sitting in a vehicle in the area of N Federal Blvd. around 7 PM, but soon fled when he saw law enforcement.
A short chase ensued, with speeds of 45 mph, at which point the vehicle broke down and rolled into a fence, causing damage.
The juvenile then got out and ran, the log continues, but was captured after a short foot chase.
He was ultimately charged with interference with a peace officer, property destruction, registration required, and minor in possession (tobacco). In addition to those charges, he also had an active Fremont County arrest warrant.
(Note: Due to the nature of cases like this involving juveniles, additional follow-up from County 10 is unlikely.)
