(Kinnear, WY) – A Kinnear resident reportedly shot at a drone contracted to do work for High Plains Power on Tuesday, May 26, according to the call log issued by the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office on May 27.
The log states that the reporting party, Zeitview Drones, informed dispatch that they were doing drone work for High Plains Power, when a homeowner shot at the drone with “a handgun,” around 4:22 PM, and that “three shots were fired.”
County 10 confirmed with FCSO Undersheriff Mike Hutchison that the drone was not struck, and that the homeowner was “warned of the dangers of shooting at drones.”
Not long after the incident occurred, the High Plains Power Facebook page shared the following post:
“We are currently using drones to inspect our overhead power lines. Our contractors are currently in the Pavillion and Kinnear areas.”
