(Shoshoni, WY) – The Lady Wranglers played in the Strannigan Classic against sophomore squads from Star Valley, Cheyenne Central, Riverton and Cheyenne East at home. Riverton needed the space and the short trip to Shoshoni was perfect for both the Lady Blue and the visiting squads.
Shoshoni opened on Thursday with a 35-28 win over the Star Valley sophomores, and a 39-28 win over Cheyenne East before easily handling the Riverton sophomore 47-6. They finished early Saturday afternoon with a 44-23 loss to Cheyenne Central’s sophomores.
The Lady Blue are young this season with just a pair of seniors in Morgan Donelson and Megan Harris and one junior, Brenna Metzler.
Freshman Natalie Gilbertson paced Shoshoni against Star Valley with a dozen points including a 3-pointer. Fellow freshman Mayce Jarvis had the other 3-point shot.
Freshman Addie Mason and Donelson led the Lady Blue against Cheyenne East with nine points each. Donelson added nine rebounds.
Shoshoni is at home again this weekend beginning Thursday with the Wrangler Classic.
