(Ethete, WY) – The Lady Chiefs sit alone at the top of the Class 2-A Southwest after a weekend sweep of Kemmerer and Big Piney at home.
Friday, Wyoming Indian took care of Big Piney 62-45, then held off a scrappy Kemmerer team 36-30 in a low-scoring affair.
The conference wins give the Lady Chiefs the inside edge for a number one seed in next month’s Class 2-A West Regional tournament.
Friday, Wyoming Indian was paced by Paisley Blackburn, with 19 points, and Taya Dixey with 18. The Chiefs combined for seven 3-pointers in the game.
Saturday was a defensive tilt for all four quarters. Kemmerer turned the ball over often but the Lady Chiefs weren’t able to convert on most possessions.
Blackburn again led Wyoming Indian with 13 points.
