(Pavillion, WY) – The Lady Cougars improved to 12-9 on the season with a 59-39 win over the Lander Lady Tiger Junior Varsity at Pavillion on Tuesday evening.
It was the final home game of the season for Wind River with one regular season contest remaining at Thermopolis on Thursday at 6 pm.
A big first and fourth period was the difference with Wind River jumping to a 17-10 lead after one and then outscoring the young Lady Tigers 19-7 in the final period.
Wind River put three girls in double-figure scoring paced by 18 from Madi Arneach. Natalie Walker tallied 14, including three 3-pointers and Jonae Spoonhunter added 11, with three-for-three shooting from the line.
The Lady Cougars will open play next Thursday at the Riverton Middle School likely against the same Lady Bobcats they face this Thursday in a game between the second and third seeds in the Class 2-A West Regional Tournament.
