The Lady Tigers behind a 1-2-3 finish in the 3200-meter run by Ameya Eddy, Dorothy Jensen and Shanti Junker, three first places by sophomore Paisely Hollingshead in the long and high jump and the 300-meter hurdles and a pair of middle distance wins by Katy Anderson in the 800 and Daisy Goklish in the 1600 ran away with the team title at the Douglas Invitational Friday with 139 points.
Shoshoni freshman Sawyer Arnhold won the 100-meter dash and finished a close second in the 200.
Lander was third and Riverton fifth on the boys’ side. No Tigers took gold but sophomore Brooks Even had an interesting day placing in the triple jump and the pole vault, an unusual combination.
The Wolverines had two individual champions and a relay title. Clay Sheets won the 300-meter hurdles in 43.07 and Kayden Liebrecht the discus with a throw of 141-5. The Riverton 4×800 meter relay took first as well.
Most Fremont County teams are headed to Lander this Saturday for the annual Roy Peck Invitational in Riverton.
