It was a solid team effort for the Riverton Lady Wolverines in winning the Jim Beman Memorial Invitational Swim Meet at Natrona County High School last weekend.
Paced by a first-place finish from Luci Pfisterer in the 200-yard freestyle, Riverton outlasted second-place Sheridan 221 to 207 to win the event.
The Lady Wolverines placed in every event, including three girls in the 100-yard breaststroke. Prestley Barta was second, Lily Ormand sixth, and Carlee Anderson eighth.
“We had a rough start to the day; the bus had some issues on the way there, but I was impressed with how they pulled through and did their best. They did amazing,” Riverton head coach Gretta Roth said.
After the momentary setback, the girls were focused and performed well.
“They did their best, Luci works hard in practice and tries to hold everyone else to a higher standard in practice its really paying off,” Roth said.
Riverton swims at Rock Springs on Friday.
