(Worland, WY) – Lander Valley High School golfers were at the Green Hills Golf Course in Worland Tuesday and Wednesday for their second event of the year.
The Tiger boys competed against 12 other teams after winning the Powell Invitational a week ago. Overall this week, the only team to finish better than LVHS was the Wheatland Bulldogs. Wheatland also boasted the individual champion, Tate Nichols. Tate had an incredible two-day 129 total score. Lander’s William Oland was second with a 147. Isaiah Webb and Ritchie Gonzales tied for 10th place, both shooting 157. Josh Lozier concluded the tournament in 13th place.
Head Coach Mike Watson noted via social media that the Lady Tigers were consistent and showed improvement throughout the tournament. Overall, they finished in 8th place. Wheatland also won the girls championship. Lander’s top finisher was Brinlee Hammond who claimed 22nd. Abby Conner was 33rd and Sawyer Colman 36th. Buffalo High School’s Addie Bettinger won overall with a two-day 163. She was just one stroke better than Wheatland’s Haylie Nelson.
