(Powell, WY) – The Wyoming high school golf season is underway and the Lander boys look good straight out of the gate.
LVHS traveled to Powell for a two-day event at the Powell Golf Course against Cody, Greybull, Kemmerer, Lovell, Star Valley, Thermopolis, Tongue River, Worland and the home team Powell Panthers.
The Tiger boys finished four strokes better than Star Valley. Cody was a distant third place.
Individually, Lander’s William Oland won the championship with a two-day 143. That was just one stroke better than Star Valley’s Daltyn DeCora at 144. Meanwhile, Tiger competitor Isaiah Webb had a great invite as well, shooting a 147 to tie for third place. Lander’s Josh Lozier took 9th, Tayten Jacks finished 13th, Ritchie Gonzales was 14th and Peyton Young 18th.
On the ladies side, the Lander girls finished 5th overall. Cody won the event with Star Valley runner-up. Brinlee Hammond paced the Lady Tigers taking 16th overall. Cody’s Eliana Hopkin won the event with a two-day 169.
