(Lander, WY) – The Lander City Council unanimously approved five action items this week during a short special meeting that lasted less than 15 minutes.
First, the council authorized Mayor Monte Richardson to sign a notice of award and construction contract for Bishop Randall Water and Street Improvements.
The bid was awarded to Alexander Excavation for about $450,000 – “slightly less than the engineer’s estimate,” Assistant Mayor RaJean Strube Fossen said.
The American Rescue Plan Act grant that is intended to fund the project “fully covers that amount,” she said, thanking the council for “having a special meeting to get this done in time to retain (those) ARPA funds.”
The council also authorized Richardson to sign a $28 million Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan agreement and a $16.9 million Drinking Water State Revolving Fund loan agreement between the Wyoming State Loan and Investment Board and the City of Lander, and they authorized the payment of about $226,000 in associated loan origination fees for both loans.
The final item on the agenda was a resolution exempting the Fremont County Pioneer Museum property from Lander’s open container provisions.
The council approved a similar resolution last year, and City Clerk Rachelle Fontaine said she is “unaware of any problems that (resolution) has caused.”
Fontaine said she also spoke with museum and police officials who agreed the resolution hasn’t created any “issues.”
The council decided to amend the new resolution to cover a three-year period instead of the original one-year period, noting that they can further modify the resolution at any point if needed.
