Lander City Council to appoint interim LPD Chief during Tuesday meeting

(Lander, WY) – The Lander City Council will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, in the City Council Chambers at 240 Lincoln Street. 

The agenda includes a Lander Volunteer Fire Department update with Eric Siwik. 

The council will also consider approving an ordinance on second reading determining the mill levy needed to raise enough money to meet the current expenses of the city for the fiscal year starting July 1.

Another ordinance will be considered on third reading granting a franchise to Centurylink to operate and maintain a telecommunications system in Lander.

Under new business, the council will consider awarding four bids to Fremont Motor Company, including:

• a $124,197 bid award for three 2025 Ford F-150 4x4s 
• an $80,992 bid award for two 2025 Dodge Durango GT AWD vehicles
• an $80,702 bid award for two 2025 Dodge Durango Pursuit vehicles
• a $52,732 bid award for one 2025 4×4 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis

Two new business items on the agenda have to do with the Table Mountain Living Community project:

• authorize the mayor to terminate the WBC BRC grant for Table Mountain Living Community infrastructure
• approve a resolution removing the authorization for the Lander Housing Authority to manage the Table Mountain Living Community 

Other new business on the agenda includes:

• approve Wind River Visitor Council’s fiscal year 2025-2026 budget
• authorize the renewal of the employee health insurance plan
• approve a replat of the Trospers Addition
• authorize the mayor to sign an alley encroachment license for the Trospers Addition replat
• authorize the renewal of Local Government Liability Pool liability insurance coverage 
• approve an amendment to the Lander Well and Transmission Pipeline 2021 Project Agreement
• authorize the mayor to sign an agreement between the Wyoming Life Resource Center and the City of Lander
• authorize the mayor to sign a mineral royalty grant agreement with the state for flood protection design
• approve a change order for the Macfarlane Utilities Project
• authorize the mayor to sign the Lander Facilities Master Plan Assessment for professional services

The council will also:

• accept the resignation of Kristin Yanonne from the Planning Commission
• accept a claim for utility pole damage
• appoint Interim Lander Police Chief Kelly Waugh 
• authorize the remove of LPD Chief Peters from the police department itinerant fund
