(Lander, WY) – The Lander City Council will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, in the City Council Chambers at 240 Lincoln Street.
The agenda includes a public hearing for the city’s fiscal year 2026-2027 budget.
The council will consider a resolution adopting the city budget later in the meeting.
There is one other new business action item on the agenda: authorize the mayor to sign a $500,000 Unmet Housing Needs grant agreement with the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments.
The agreement indicates that the funds will be spent on “incentivized infill construction of new or additional dwelling units as recommended in the adopted 2025 Master Plan.”
“This includes providing additional housing stock within the city limits for both rental and homeownership opportunities,” Lander’s $1 million grant application states. “Incentives for water, sewer, storm drainage, street, ADA sidewalk, curb and gutter infrastructure will be as advertised and awarded through a publicly advertised process for eligible applicants over multiple years.”
Currently, the application says, city regulations require property owners to install that infrastructure “at their own cost when subdividing or obtaining a building permit.”
“The cost of this infrastructure has been a deterrent to individuals wanting to build new residential projects,” the application states.
Through the grant project, the application says “the city will install all required subdivision infrastructure located in the city right of way for eligible landowners when they apply for a subdivision (including annexation) or building permit.”
“The goal is to incentivize infill construction of new or additional dwelling units (both rental and homeownership opportunities) as recommended in the adopted 2025 Lander Master Plan,” the application states.
Tuesday’s meeting is open to the public for in-person attendance and will be streamed live on Zoom.
