Lander City Council to consider economic development funding for girls softball league during Tuesday meeting

(Lander, WY) – The Lander City Council will hold a regular meeting at 6 PM on Tuesday, Feb. 11, in the City Council Chambers at 240 Lincoln Street.

The agenda for the meeting includes two public hearings: one for a retail liquor license transfer of location, and another for an ordinance granting a franchise to Centurylink to operate and maintain a telecommunications system in the city.

The council will consider approving both items later in the meeting.

After communication from the floor, mayor and council updates, and staff reports, the council will hear an audit presentation for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.

The council will then un-table and consider approving an economic development funding recommendation for Lander Girls Softball League Complex Improvements.

Other action items on the agenda include:

• approve Tree Board bylaws
• authorize the mayor to sign a one-year extension for the LOTRA lease and license
• award the $1.1 million McFarlane Utilities Project bid to Patrick Construction
• authorize amendments to an agreement with Juvenile Justice Services of Fremont County
• authorize the mayor to sign three Street Lighting Agreements with Rocky Mountain Power
• approve the Joe Kenney Hangar Lease Extension
• amend the groundskeeping agreement for the Lander Community and Convention Center
• approve a Hangar Space Land Lease Agreement with William Hovendick
• authorize the mayor to sign a $300,000 MRG grant agreement to perform engineering for the Middle Fork Popo Agie Flood Control and Restoration Project
• authorize the mayor to award the Middle Fork Popo Agie Flood Control and Restoration Project to Strike Consulting Group for up to $600,000

An executive session will be held to discuss potential litigation before adjournment.
