Lander City Council to host public hearing for Popo Agie River Park Addition rezone during Tuesday meeting

(Lander, WY) – The Lander City Council will hold a regular meeting beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, in the City Council Chambers at 240 Lincoln Street.

The agenda for the meeting includes a public hearing for an ordinance rezoning the Popo Agie River Park Addition from an R-3 Single and Multi-Family Residential District to PL-Public Lands.

The council will also discuss a potential amendment to the portion of the Lander Municipal Code regarding the sale, licensing and use of alcoholic and malt beverages.

Unfinished business on the agenda includes:

• consider approving an ordinance on third and final reading establishing comprehensive regulations for the public and private community forest in Lander
• consider approving an ordinance on third and final reading amending the “compensation of officers and employees” section of the Lander Municipal Code
• consider approving an ordinance on third and final reading granting a franchise to Visionary Communications to operate and maintain a telecommunications system in the city
• consider untabling and approving an ordinance on third and final reading rezoning 569 Garfield from R-5 Residential to C Commercial 

New business on the agenda includes:

• approve an ordinance on first reading rezoning the Popo Agie River Park Addition from an R-3 Single and Multi-Family Residential District to PL-Public Lands
• approve a resolution declaring certain police department tasers as surplus property and authorizing their disposal via public auction to a qualified bidder
• approve a resolution updating city procurement policies for contracted services, public construction projects, and vehicle purchases
• approve a resolution adopting the Lander Police Department policy and procedure manual
• authorize the mayor to sign a LOR grant agreement accepting $6,132 to purchase 36 pairs of skates and laces, five skate trainers, one skate deodorizer, flyers, and waivers
• authorize the mayor to sign an $8,500 change order for the Lander Sidewalk Improvement Project
• approve and authorize the mayor to sign a $45,000 change order for the Macfarlane Utilities Project

Tuesday’s meeting is open to the public for in-person attendance and will be streamed live on Zoom.
