Lander Ward 2 City Councilwoman Melinda Cox announced to her other council members and Lander Mayor Del McOmie Tuesday that she is planning to step down from her council position.
In a letter of resignation, Cox explained, “Due to additional family needs and care I have relocated to another ward within the city of Lander immediately.”
She also told council members, “I have been humbled and appreciative of the continued support from my constituents and will continue to be a part of our community.”
Cox is also part of the Lander Planning Commission and Board of Examiners.
The timetable was not immediately clear on a Ward 2 replacement.
