(Lander, WY) – Lander football cruised to 4-0 on the road last weekend, earning a 42-16 victory 288 miles away from their home stadium.
After home wins over Green River and Powell to begin the year, the Tigers went to Evanston and won big then traveled even further to Torrington and notched a victory in their first 3A East conference game of the season.
The Tigers removed any doubt early at Torrington. Brayden Baker scored from a yard out, Finn McFadden had a thrilling 70 yard pick-6 and Paxon Hollingshead threw a 25 yard strike to Caleb Andrews in the endzone… all in the first quarter.
Cody West punched in a pair of touchdowns, one in the second quarter and one in the third. Then, Cole Espinosa had a 19 yard run to the house for good measure in the 4th.
Third year Head Coach Jim Burton is now facing what is likely the most important game of his time at the LVHS helm this Friday. A conference contest against Douglas, this Friday at 6:00 p.m.
