(Lander, WY) – Lander Valley High School girls soccer is off to a perfect start in 2026.
The 3-0 Lady Tigers rank third in the latest 3A WyoPreps.com Coaches & Media Poll, trailing only Cody and Powell.
Lander is coming off of a thrilling shootout win against the 4th rated Buffalo ladies on the road last Friday. Brit Richards had the lone regulation goal for the Tigers, who ultimately won an extra time shootout 5-4. Head Coach Hunter Roseberry explained, “It wasn’t a pretty one, but the girls got the job done.”
Last Thursday, the Lander ladies crushed Worland at home 6-1. Brit Richards found the net 4 minutes into the game and Brinlee Hammond scored again 6 minutes in. Ultimately, that was all the LVHS team needed, but they’d tally four more. Richards scored twice, Hammond scored twice. Finley Roseberry and Hadley Weston knocked in the other two goals. Assists came from Hadley Weston twice and Paisley Roseberry.
Lander had even more highlights in their season opener against Rawlins, scoring 8 goals. Ang Rudd had a shutout in net. Blue Blackburn recorded 4 of the team’s 8 goals, Finley Morton scored twice and Hadley Weston notched a pair of goals.
The team will continue to practice this week during Spring Break and resume competition next week. Lander heads to Douglas Tuesday, April 7th. They’ll be back in front of the home crowd on Friday, April 10th against Powell and Saturday, April 11th versus Cody.
