(Lander, WY) – Lander Valley High School star golfer and recent graduate Hunter Kihn signed his letter of intent Tuesday to play golf at Central Wyoming College.
“It’s close to home, close to family and I know a lot of people going there. It will be a great opportunity for me to level-up my game and hopefully play for a bigger college in the next few years,” Hunter told us.
Kihn said it was fun being part of a school with a winning tradition, especially over his four years there. “Our athletics are pretty solid, we’re always competing, we’re always wanting to win. I think golf is right up there as a program. We’re always looking to become better and produce high quality athletes.”
He explained that while tournaments were especially fun to participate in, the memories he’ll take away most from his time at LVHS were inspired by his teammates and classmates. “I’ll miss all the bus trips and staying in hotel rooms after tournaments.”
Hunter says he’ll play in a couple summer junior golf tournaments and, “do whatever I can to improve and get ready for the season.”
Central Wyoming College golf is led by Coach Mike Neuman. The Rustler fall tournament schedule typically begins in early September.
