(Lovell, WY) – The Lander Valley High School golf teams made a statement at the 3A West Conference Tournament at the Foster Gulch Golf Course in Lovell, bringing home hardware on both the boys and girls sides while also celebrating two individual champions.
The Tiger boys dominated the field, cruising to the team championship by an impressive 51 strokes. Lander posted a team total of 605 (+16), powered by depth across the lineup. Joshua Lozier led the charge, earning the individual title with a score of 147 (+5). William Oland placed fourth at 153, while both Grady Eagle and Brenner Colman tied for fifth at 157. Isaiah Webb finished eighth with a 159, and Tayten Jacks rounded out the group in ninth at 164, giving the Tigers six players in the top 10.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Tigers battled to a strong runner-up finish with a team score of 565 (+67), just behind conference champion Cody. Keigann Watson claimed the individual championship, shooting 164 (+10) to top the field. Siara Espinosa added a seventh-place finish at 187, while Georgia Chance, Brinlee Hammond, and Claire Francom rounded out the scoring. Hammond and Francom both notched personal-record rounds of 109 to cap a strong team performance.
Final team standings saw the Lander boys on top ahead of Pinedale and Cody, while the Lady Tigers finished second to Cody, with Powell in third.
Coach Mike Watson and the Lander golf teams head to Cody for the state golf tournament September 19 and 20.
