(Cody, WY) – Lander Valley High School golfers wrapped up the fall portion of their divided season Saturday in Cody at the 3A State Championship.
The Tiger boys finished runner-up behind Wheatland. After day one, Lander held an 8-stroke lead over the Bulldogs, but WHS out-shot Lander by 18 strokes total on day two for the win.
Lander’s girls took third as a team. Wheatland also won the team title and Cody finished second on their home course.
Individually, the Lander boys were led by William Oland. The junior shot a day one 71 and a day two 81. Wheatland’s Tate Nichols, also a junior, won the individual title. Tiger Isaiah Webb was 6th individually, Joshua Lozier took 14th, Brenner Colman placed 15th.
Lady Tiger Siara Espinosa paced her team with a two-day 173. Fellow senior Keigann Watson took 9th and Georgia Chance placed 23rd. Meanwhile, Buffalo High School junior Addison Bettinger won the overall event.
