(Lander, WY) – The unusually warm weather this season has continued to pose challenges for ice-making at the skating rink in Lander. As a result, the rink’s opening date has been delayed once more, with a new target date set for Friday, January 3, weather permitting.
The rink was originally scheduled to open on December 20th, with a subsequent target of December 27th. However, the unseasonable temperatures have made it difficult to create and maintain a safe and functional ice surface.
City staff remain committed to opening the rink as soon as conditions allow. Updates on the official opening day and time will be shared through the City’s website and social media channels.
Skating Rink Location and Information
The Lander Ice Skating Rink is located at City Park, on the baseball field next to the Parks and Recreation building. Guests can bring their own skates or rent skates at the admission window. Concessions will be available. The rink now accepts credit and debit card payments, as well as tap-to-pay options for added convenience.
