(Pavillion, WY) – It was another long night for the winless Wind River Cougars at Pavillion on Tuesday. Wind River hosted the Lander Junior Varsity and fell 82-24 to the young Tigers.
Lander jumped to a 26-8 lead, then bumped it to 45-18 at the half.
Wind River’s offense sputtered to a halt in the second half with just four points in the third period and only two in the fourth.
Meanwhile, the Tigers ran a layup drill pouring in 26 points in the third quarter, matching their first eight minutes of play.
All 11 Lander players scored in the contest.
Zane David led Wind River with 10.
Wind River is 0-21 on the season with one regular season game remaining on Thursday in Thermopolis against the top-ranked Bobcats.
It will likely be a preview of the opening round of the West 2-A Regional Tournament the following Thursday at Riverton High School.
