(Worland, WY) – The Lander Valley High School girls golf team earned a 6th-place finish out of 9 teams at the Worland Invite, competing against a strong field of 40 individual players.
Senior Keigann Watson led the way with rounds of 91 and 79, climbing the leaderboard on day two to secure an impressive 3rd-place individual finish. Her final-round 79 was one of the best scores of the tournament and earned her a podium spot.
Siara Espinosa contributed with rounds of 95–104, while Georgia Chance (119–110), Brinlee Hammond (120–121), and Claire Francom (130–128) each showed improvement and perseverance across both days to help the Tigers’ team standing.
Head Coach Mike Watson reflected on the team’s performance:
“Keigann’s second-round 79 was outstanding, and I’m really proud of how the rest of the girls competed. Against nine full teams and 40 total golfers, finishing 6th is a solid step forward for our group.”
The Lady Tigers will continue to build on this result as their season progresses.
