This week, preschoolers from Lander Learning Express Preschool had the opportunity to visit the Lander Police Department, where they had a hands-on learning experience about the roles and responsibilities of local law enforcement.
During the visit, students explored the police department building, learned how officers stay in shape through exercise, learned about the tools of the job, and got an up-close look at a police vehicle. The children were full of curiosity, asking questions to the officers who guided the tour. Several preschoolers shared that they want to be police officers when they grow up.
“We always look forward to our visit to the Lander Police Department,” said Tara Brown, director of Lander Learning Express Preschool. “It is great to show our students who the helpers are within our community. The kids are always curious and ask great questions.”
“It was great to see the preschoolers today and show them how the Lander Police Department works,” said Administrative Sergeant Ron Wells. “Visiting with the youth of our community is always a highlight of our week.”
