According to Cadillac News, a Lander man has been arrested for attempting to run over another man with his truck.
The Wyoming man was not identified in any way other than being 49-years-old. Around 3:00 a.m. on August 22nd, Michigan authorities received calls of a man driving erratically. Another call told authorities that a man was chasing another man on foot.
Troopers from the Cadillac State Police Post arrived to find the Lander man lying on the ground near his Ford F150. Troopers reported extensive front end damage to the truck. The 49-year-old told police he was chasing an individual who attempted to steal his truck.
According to Cadillac News, the man who was being chased was a 47-year-old Washington resident. He told officers that he was awakened by loud music coming from a street near a residence. He told authorities that he found the Ford F150 in the road unattended with the driver’s door open, playing the extremely loud music.
The Washington man told police he turned the music down and took the keys out of the ignition, then placed the keys on the seat. The Washington man then called police to report the vehicle. As he was placing the call, the Wyoming man came running toward him and proceeded to chase him both on foot and in the truck.
There were no injuries reported. The Lander man is awaiting arraignment in Benzie, Michigan County Jail.
