All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
(Lander, WY) – Lander man Jason Trimmer pled “guilty” to two of the four charges originally filed against him at his December 2 change of plea hearing, held before the Honorable Judge Alan B. Johnson in the U.S District Court of Cheyenne.
A sentencing hearing has been set for February 20, 2025.
Trimmer was federally charged back in August for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm.
The charges came to be following an investigation from the Safe Trails Task Force, led by the FBI, who seized more than 500 grams of methamphetamine, over 32 grams of fentanyl, and 13 firearms from Trimmer’s residence.
Trimmer initially pled “not guilty,” and a jury trial was set for October 7, but that trial was later rescheduled for December 9 following the acceptance of a motion to continue.
A non-public plea agreement was later filed on November 21, and the December 2 change of plea hearing was then set, where Trimmer pled “guilty” to the possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime charges.
If accepted, the remaining two counts will be dismissed.
Trimmer’s sentencing hearing is now scheduled for February 20, 2025.
