(Lander, WY) – Lander Middle School World Language Teacher Josie Rounds was recognized at the state level earlier this month as part of the Wyoming Department of Education’s “Educator Spotlight” series.
Rounds was nominated for the recognition by Fremont County School District 1 Curriculum Director Deidre Meyer, who highlighted the achievement during a FCSD 1 Board of Trustees meeting March 17.
“It’s really exciting,” Meyer said, reading from her nomination letter, which the WDE posted on Facebook as part of Rounds’ recognition announcement.
“Josie intentionally uses collaborative structures to create engaging learning environments where all students feel valued and supported,” the post reads. “Josie’s enthusiasm for world languages and cultures inspires students to embrace global associations. She goes above and beyond to propel learners to reach their full potential.”
Rounds also shows “remarkable commitment” to the Future Business Leaders of America program, Meyer said this month, and she also serves as a local track coach.
“She never stops, and she has that well-rounded student in mind all the time,” Meyer said. “And so I just wanted to celebrate her.”
