(Lander, WY) – On March 4, Lander Police Department Officers Pieracini and Tadewald successfully seized a “significant quantity of illegal narcotics,” according to a release shared by LPD on March 19.
LPD arrested two individuals, with a third charge pending, following a traffic stop that took place near the 1700 block of Main Street in Lander.
“During the traffic stop, officers were able to ascertain probable cause to search a vehicle,” the release states, at which point they located “approximately 2-1/2 ounces of methamphetamine as well as heroin and marijuana.”
“This seizure represents a major step in our ongoing fight against illegal drug distribution in our community,” LPD Captain Kelly Waugh stated in the release.
“We remain committed to keeping dangerous substances off our streets and holding traffickers accountable even with all the recent happenings and changes within the Police Department.”
The release informs that the investigation remains ongoing, and that “authorities urge anyone with information regarding illegal drug activity to contact Lander Police Department.”
