Slick roads appear to be the main culprit for what was a busy day for the Lander Police Department Wednesday.
Luckily, LPD tells us that there were no major injuries reported in any of the six accidents.
At 9:59 a.m. LPD responded to a 2-vehicle crash on Garfield.
At 12:48 p.m. a hit-and-run was reported on Main Street, near Taco John’s. LPD had no specifics as to the matter but indicated that the report was completed on the case.
Just a few moments after that at 1:24 p.m. an accident occurred between a garbage truck and an SUV. One person was cited for speeding.
Over an hour later, at 2:44 p.m. a 2 vehicle crash was reported at South 5th Street and Garfield. One person was cited for going too fast for conditions and an expired driver’s license.
At 5:22 p.m. a vehicle slid into a light pole near South 3rd Street and Cascade. There was no damage to the pole.
And, at 7:48 p.m. a vehicle slid off the road hitting an embankment on Highway 789, near Popo Agie. Damage to the vehicle was reported by LPD.
Motorists are reminded to slow down when there’s ice and snow, and always buckle up.
