(Lander, WY) – The Lander School Board will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, in the Boardroom at the Administration Building at 863 Sweetwater St. in Lander.
The agenda includes an executive session.
Under action items, the board will consider approving personnel actions, stipulated agreements, and two new Advanced Placement courses at Lander Valley High School: AP Cybersecurity and AP Statistics.
Five policies will be considered on first reading during discussion:
- EEACC – Student Conduct on Buses (duplicate; proposed for deletion)
- JFC/JFC-R – Student Conduct
- JFCA – Student Dress
- JFCC/JFCC-R Student Conduct on Buses
- JFC – Married or Pregnant Students
The board will also hear from Business Manager Travis Sweeney, who will review highlights of the district’s fiscal year 2025 Financial and Compliance Report.
Four items are listed for discussion regarding staff absences and substitutes:
- Annual cost of substitute teachers
- Average number of substitutes in the district each day
- Average number of unfilled substitute jobs in the district each day
- Reasons for subs (activities, illness, other)
The board will also be informed about the following upcoming events:
- Jan. 23 – Legislative Preview Luncheon (Lander Community Center)
- Feb. 3 – Work Session (Jeffrey City)
- Feb. 9 – State Legislative Session Begins
- Feb. 17 – Regular Board Meeting
