(Lander, WY) – The Fremont County School District 1 Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 863 Sweetwater Street in Lander.
The agenda includes the election of board officers: Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Clerk, and Treasurer.
The board will also hear board member reports, student board reports, and the superintendent’s report, including a review of suspension and expulsion data.
The consent agenda for the evening includes:
- approve expenditures and pre-approve utility payments and financial report
- reporting of home school students and curriculum
- approval of surplus/disposable property
- designate the superintendent or a designee as the authorized person to sign state, federal and special education contracts and grants
- designate the curriculum director as the district’s representative for Title VI, VII, and IX of the U.S. Education Code
- appoint the law firm of Copenhaver, Kath, Kitchen, and Kolpitcke to represent the district
- appoint the Lander Journal as the official newspaper of the district
An executive session will be held regarding matters related to employment of personnel and matters concerning litigation.
Action items on the agenda include:
- personnel actions and fall coaching recommendations
- audit report
- stipulated expulsion agreements
- National Archery in Schools Program Grant
- a Lander Middle School “Wind River Outdoor Education Expedition” proposal
- early resignation stipend
- student board representative
- board meeting dates for 2025
- school calendar for 2026-2027
Discussion items include a review of board committees and building liaisons, cell phone usage in classrooms, and a LOR letter to the editor.
