The holiday season is here, and Lander is celebrating with festive events for all ages. From twinkling lights to family-friendly concerts and nostalgic holiday traditions, there’s something for everyone. Mark your calendars and join us for a joyful December in Lander!
Light Up Lander Parade – December 6
Join the City of Lander for the annual Light Up Lander Parade on Saturday, December 6, at 5:30 PM. The parade will travel down Main Street from Baldwin Street to 2nd Street. Businesses, clubs, churches, teams, and families are all welcome to register their float for free at City Hall through December 1.
Santa Claus will make a special appearance riding with the Lander Volunteer Fire Department. For safety, Main Street will be briefly closed—please follow guidance from the Lander Police Department. Local businesses are encouraged to stay open late to welcome parade-goers.
Free cookies and cocoa will be handed out before the parade at Centennial Park by Lander Independent Baptist Church.
Free Cookies and Cocoa with Santa – December 6
After the parade, stop by the Lander Valley High School lobby for free cookies, cocoa, and a visit with Santa until 7:00 PM, hosted by Lander Performing Arts. The pre-show event is free and open to all.
Lander Performing Arts Holiday Concert: BYU Wind Symphony – December 6
Wrap up your evening with a special holiday performance by the BYU Wind Symphony, Brigham Young University’s premier wind ensemble, featuring 50 top woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians. Led by Shawn Smith, the group is known for its world tours, dynamic concerts, and rich seasonal repertoire. The Lander performance will showcase festive holiday favorites and symphonic arrangements perfect for the whole family. The concert begins at 7 PM at Lander Valley High School.

An Old Fashioned Christmas in the Pioneer Village – December 13
Experience a charming holiday evening at the Pioneer Museum on Saturday, December 13, from 6–8 PM. This free family event includes:
-A stroll through the beautifully lit Pioneer Village
-Music in the Livery Stable by the LVHS Concert Band and Choir
-Cookie decorating with LVHS culinary arts students
-Crafts, games, hot chocolate, treats, and a visit from a special guest from the North Pole
