(Lander, WY) – Both the Lander Valley High School boys and girls soccer teams have earned their way to the state tournament. Play begins from Gillette this Thursday and continues Friday and Saturday.
The Lander boys finished the regular season 9-3 overall and second in the 3A West, only behind Cody. The Tigers open play against the third seed from the 3A East, Worland at 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Should Lander win that game, they’ll advance to the semi-finals Friday at 4:00 p.m. against either Buffalo or Powell.
The defending 3A soccer champion Lander ladies went 8-4 this regular season and finished as the 3rd place team from the 3A West. They’ll open the state tournament Thursday at 2:00 p.m. against the second seed from the east, Worland. Should LVHS win, they’ve got a 2:00 p.m. semi-final game Friday against either Cody or Buffalo.
