(Lander, WY) – Last weekend Lander softball played three games against Casper schools. LVHS split a double-header at home agains the Kelly Walsh JV. They’d go to Casper Saturday and notch a big 13-4 win against Natrona County’s JV team.

Friday Game 1: Lander 14 Kelly Walsh 3
Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers defeated Kelly Walsh Junior Varsity Trojans 14-3 on Friday thanks in part to 14 runs in the first inning. Tanayah Burnett singled, scoring one run, Savanna Martell singled, scoring one run, Kimi Salway-OneHorn doubled, scoring two runs, Lizzy Gribowskas singled, scoring one run, Kylie Gallinger doubled, scoring three runs, Savanna Martell doubled, scoring one run, Temiah Kaulaity singled, scoring two runs, Kimi Salway-OneHorn drew a walk, scoring one run, Lizzy Gribowskas singled, scoring one run, and Alayah Charginghawk singled, scoring one run.
Gallinger earned the win for Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers. The starter surrendered two hits and one run over two innings, striking out four and walking one. Macias took the loss for Kelly Walsh Junior Varsity Trojans. The hurler went three innings, surrendering 14 runs on 11 hits, striking out three and walking eight. Snetcher appeared in relief for Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers.
Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers collected 11 hits in the game. Martell and Gribowskas each collected two hits for Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers. Gallinger and Salway-OneHorn each drove in three runs for Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers. Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Charginghawk and Tasha Friday led the team with two free passes each. Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers stole five bases in the game. Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.

Kelly Walsh Junior Varsity Trojans opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two walks. Kelly Walsh Junior Varsity Trojans first got on the board when Johnson drew a walk, scoring one run.
Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers scored seven runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. Lizzy Gribowskas drew a walk, scoring one run, Abree Peters singled, scoring one run, Kindree Balderson singled, scoring two runs, Kylie Gallinger doubled, scoring one run, Lorion Green grounded out, scoring one run, and Kiki Chavez grounded out, scoring one run.
Balderson and Gallinger were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers. Kimi Salway-OneHorn led Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Gribowskas stole two bases. Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers scored nine runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat Natrona County Junior Varsity Fillies 13-4 on Saturday. Kylie Gallinger doubled, scoring one run, Tanaya Burnett doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored three runs, an error scored two runs, and Kennedy Brown grounded out, scoring one run.
A passed ball put Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers on the board in the top of the second.
Gallinger earned the win for Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers. The pitcher gave up two hits and four runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking two. King opened the game for Natrona County Junior Varsity Fillies. The hurler surrendered eight hits and seven runs (four earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out two and walking none.
Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers amassed 11 hits in the game. Gallinger went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Lander Valley Junior Varsity Tigers in hits.
