Lander is proud to host a full weekend of sporting events, welcoming athletes, coaches, families, and fans from across the region.
Lander Valley High School opens the weekend with a golf tournament on Friday, May 8, at 10 AM. Eleven teams are scheduled to compete, including Buffalo, Cody, Evanston, Glenrock, Jackson, Lovell, Pinedale, Powell, Star Valley, and Worland.
Track and field takes the stage on Saturday, May 9, as Lander Valley High School hosts the Shane Brock Invitational beginning at 10 AM. Events include field competitions at 10 AM, relays at 11 AM, and the Community Mile at Noon—a $10 fundraiser open to the public. Running events resume at 12:30 PM. The meet is expected to draw about 15 schools and nearly 400 athletes.

On May 9–10, the Lander Lobos will host the Mother’s Day Tournament at City Park. Spectators are welcome.
Looking ahead, Lander Middle School will host the Best of the Best track and field meet on Tuesday, May 12, with nearly 40 schools and approximately 600 athletes expected.
With the anticipated influx of visitors, local businesses can expect increased traffic throughout the weekend and into next week. The City of Lander encourages residents and business owners to showcase the community’s hospitality and spirit.
