On October 19th around 3:00 p.m., Lander Police officers were dispatched to a residential neighborhood for a report of a female subject, “slashing tires and jumping on vehicles.”
When LPD officers arrived on the scene, a witness told them that a woman identified as 29-year-old Sade Tidzump had slashed their vehicle’s tires and broken out windows with a crowbar while it was parked at their residence. Another neighbor said that they had seen Tidzump vandalizing the car, then she “charged after them with a crowbar.” Neighbors continued that Tidzump returned to her vehicle and “just missed striking” a pedestrian.
The owner of the vandalized vehicle told officers that Tidzump had sent her a text message earlier in the day saying she wanted to, “kick her ass” because she had a poor attitude. The vehicle owner said another text message indicated it would, “either be her face or her car.” The vehicle owner told authorities she didn’t have a reason Tidzump would want to destroy her car.
The damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,980.
On November 28th, the initial hearing for Tidzump was waived. The matter will be transferred to District Court at a later date.
Tidzump is facing one count of property destruction and defacement, and one count of possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent.
If convicted, both penalties combine for a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $11,000.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
