(Lander, WY) – Lander Valley High School’s Adelyn Anderson concluded her junior year by earning the top honor in the state for girls track & field, winning the Gatorade Athlete of the Year honor.
Adelyn helped Lander secure a team championship at state, winning both the shot put and discuss individually. Anderson set a new state record in the shot put with a throw of 49 feet 7.75 inches this season.
The 5’11 multi-sport athlete was ranked in the top ten nationally for shot put and top fifteen in discuss. She also boasts a 4.0 GPA in the classroom.

This is the 40th year Gatorade has honored Wyoming’s best high school athletes. For the last two season’s Sheridan’s Addie Pendergast earned the honor in girls track and field. The last time a Fremont County athlete was recognized as the Gatorade Athlete of the Year in track was Lander’s Gage Gose who won the boys award for the 2022-23 season.
