Lander’s Jensen Wins Girls Race in Riverton

(Riverton, WT) – Lander’s Dorothy Jensen won the girls race of the Berry Bryant / Kyle Johnson Memorial Cross Country meet in a time of 19 minutes, 33.87 seconds. She edged out Worland’s Ava Tapia, who finished second in 19:36.61.

Worland placed four runners in the top 10: Tapia, Timber Decker (4th, 21:53.52), Leanne Croft (5th, 22:02.41), and Ella Garcia (7th, 22:44.07) to win the team title.

The girls had favorable weather, but clouds were gathering and the skies were darkening as the boys’ race began in the late afternoon.

On the boys’ side, Kellen Winters led a strong contingent of Class 1-A Burlington runners to first place. Lander’s Logan Milek finished second, with Marshall Walton and Jameson Spradlin of Riverton seventh and 10th. Wolverine sophomore Ridge Reiman was just out of the top 10 with an 11th-place finish in 18:50.46.
